Fresh Cuts: The Muggs

With the recent passing of The Stooges' guitarist Ron Asheton, we've been playing a lot of Fun House and Raw Power the last few days. Detroit is still steeped in the group's influence, a mix of greasy blues and punk swagger drenched in feedback. Like hometown heroes The White Stripes and The Dirtbombs, The Muggs wear their Motor City blues punk influences on their sleeves with a mix of downtown '70s New York City: the wandering solos of Tom Verlaine's Television and sweaty glam vocals of The New York Dolls.
